After registering an Air SIM, why does it transition to “In Use” state automatically?

 

Immediately after registration, an Air SIM is in the “Ready” state, allowing communications.

Once a device begins communications with the SIM in "Ready" state, the status will change to “Active.”

To prevent the device from communicating, set it to “Inactive” in the Console or API using the “Deactivate” process. This will switch it to “Inactive” and stop data communications.

Note that some devices may attempt to initiate a session while in the Inactive state. However, the session will fail to initiate, and no charges will be incurred.
